The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA), has concluded its key digital services, its experience in developing smart systems for zakat, tax and customs services, and its efforts to leverage from digitization in all areas of its sector, during the events of the third LEAP Conference.
During LEAP (4-7 March 2024), ZATCA presented its E-Invoicing System, one of its prominent projects within its digital transformation strategy, to cement the efficiency of businesses, improve customer experience and facilitate several procedures through digitalization and automation. It is noteworthy that LEAP this year is taking place at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center-RICEC.
ZATCA also highlighted its customs services that are relevant to trade facilitation; mainly the “Clearance within Two Hours" Initiative, which is a unique example for consolidating the efforts of customs clearance authorities and aims to elevate the Kingdom's position as a global logistics hub. In addition, ZATCA introduced the conference to the Bonded Zones services and their contribution to creating an environment that attracts investments in the Kingdom.
In the meantime, ZATCA showcased its experience using the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) technology, called “the Digital Employee" at ZATCA is intended to improve quality standards through multitasking with utmost precision, flexibility and efficiency. ZATCA has also revealed its plans to connect artificial intelligence with guidelines and smart assistant services, in addition to several other digital services that ZATCA provides through its ZAKATY smart phone application.
ZATCA's participation in LEAP comes after ZATCA recently ranked first in the Digital Transformation Index for 2023, which was announced last December during the Digital Government Forum. The ranking was awarded after weighing in best practices and standards, aiming to contribute significantly to realizing the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
Through its participation in LEAP 2024, ZATCA aims to promote the opportunities for communication and cooperation with stakeholders and leading technology companies, to serve its strategic directions in modernizing its digital services and systems and building comprehensive integrated systems through which it can improve the services provided, support the business sector, and elevate customer experience, in line with ZATCA's vision and strategic objectives.
