The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA), at King Abdullah Port in Rabigh, successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle 54.8 kilograms of the narcotic substance cocaine, which was found hidden in a shipment arriving in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the port.
ZATCA explained that the shipment, which consisted of bananas, underwent customs procedures. During inspection using security technologies and K9, the cocaine was discovered concealed within the shipment.
ZATCA confirmed its commitment to maintaining stringent customs control over the Kingdom's imports and exports, standing vigilant against smuggling attempts. This is done in continuous coordination and cooperation with its partners in the General Directorate of Narcotics Control, ensuring community safety and protection.
ZATCA urged everyone to contribute to combating smuggling to protect society and the national economy by contacting them through the designated security reporting number (1910), via email (1910@zatca.gov.sa), or the international number (00966114208417). ZATCA assures that it receives reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the Common Customs Law through these channels in complete confidentiality, offering a financial reward for accurate information.
