ZATCA concludes its participation in Seatrade Maritime Middle East Dubai 2021

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) concluded its participation in Seatrade Maritime Middle East Exhibition (SMME) held in Dubai this week. SMME attracts an array of global trade officials and decision makers from the public sector and major local and international businesses.

Through SMME, ZATCA aimed at offering services and solutions for facilitating trade in the logistic and customs technologies, as well as disseminating general information on import and export taxes.

ZATCA, during its participation in SMME, introduced Awlawia Program (Saudi Authorized Economic Operator Program), which is a crucial program offered by ZATCA to the private sector. The Program is based on the concept of partnership between ZATCA and the commercial establishments. It further promotes global supply chain security, and provides more trade facilitation benefits. Furthermore, ZATCA introduced the feature of pre-submission of import documents, which reduces the time needed for importers to complete container procedures and streamlines the customs procedures and the trade.

Participation in SMME is a part of ZATCA's efforts to enhance communication with stakeholders at Zakat, tax and customs events, exhibitions and conferences, as well as to meet with counterparts in other countries to share experiences.
