Governor of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority H.E. Suhail bin Mohammed Abanmi, has expressed his appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for issuing the Royal Decree appointing Abanmi as the Governor of Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority. The decision comes after merging the General Authority of Zakat and Tax and the General Customs Authority into one Authority under the name of "Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority".
H.E. Engineer Abanmi expressed his gratitude in a statement addressed to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman: “I hereby extend my deepest appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence for the faith they entrusted in me. I ask Allah Almighty to help my colleagues and me to carry out the orders and directives of our leaders for ZATCA and meet their expectations in advancing this important and vital sector."
Abanmi revealed that the merger would achieve various security and social benefits. He believes that the merger shall upgrade the integration of the two authorities, eliminate the tax and zakat violations, improve the economic activities and facilitate trade and business performance. Such actions will result in attracting foreign investment, support local business growth through the development of a Universally Unique Identifier (UUID) for the companies and establishments operating with the two authorities. The UUID shall standardize communication with customers, transfer to the customer service-centric business, and improve and enrich the customer's experience. In addition, such changes will usher in bettering compliance to zakat and tax, and improving public services and passenger experience.
Eng. Abanmi stressed the fact that the Kingdom's leaders are mainly focused on the promotion and development of national human resources in accordance with the Saudi Vision 2030 through continuing training and development to cope with the advancements occurring in all sectors.
