Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Sheikh, the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, President of the Council of Senior Scholars and the General President of Islamic Research and Ifta, emphasized the necessity of paying attention to and promptly paying Zakat, especially since it has become easier to know the funds subject to Zakat as well as Zakat amounts and payment methods are available.

The Grand Mufti praised the pivotal role played by the General Authority of Zakat & Tax (GAZT) in easing the burden on individuals to pay their Zakat via “Zakaty" Online Service, which calculates and collects Zakat of individuals voluntarily, and then dispenses it to the eligible recipients through the HRSD's Social Security Agency.

“Zakaty" is the entity entrusted for collecting and dispensing Zakat to the eligible recipients, the Grand Mufti said, and the Service is based on the fatwas issued by the Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta.

The Grand Mufti recommended to take advantage of this holy month (Ramadan), in which good deeds are magnified and multiplied, by paying Zakat via “Zakaty" in order to ensure that the payer's Zakat has been dispensed to the eligible recipients.

It should be noted that “Zakaty" App and website provide the service of calculating amount must be paid as Zakat for all types of funds and possessions, including gold, silver, money, debts, shares and investment fund units. In addition, “Zakaty" collects Zakat amounts reliably, easily and quickly through secure e-payment methods, such as “Mada", “SADAD" and “Apple Pay." The Service also issues an invoice for the transaction as well as provides a reminder of the Zakat dates.
