Today, 20 September 2021, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) launched its new identity which reflects the pivotal role played by ZATCA towards protection and security of the homeland and its capabilities. It also highlights ZATCA's role in development and prosperity of the national economy in light of solidarity of community, i.e. individuals and public and private sectors.
The new identity symbolizes ZATCA's ceaseless efforts to build an effective and highly efficient entity that contributes to the economic development, tightens customs control over the Kingdom's imports and exports and facilitates cross-border trade.
Through its Vision, ZATCA seeks to be a global model in management of Zakat, taxes and customs by achieving its strategic goals that focus on strengthening security, increasing compliance and commitment, supporting economic development and facilitating trade.
ZATCA's identity was launched after the Council of Ministers' Decision, issued in May 2021, for merging the General Authority of Zakat and Tax (GAZT) and the General Customs Authority into one Authority under the name of “Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority". The Decision aims to unify the efforts of both sectors, improve experience of the business sector and promote confidence under one authority, thereby enhancing performance and increasing efficiency of expenditure.
