General Authority of Zakat and Tax Emphasizes Deadline for Filing Tax Returns.

General Authority of Zakat and Tax has reminded establishments subject to Zakat and Income Tax that the final deadline for filing tax returns for the financial year ending 31 December 2018, will be Tuesday, 30 April 2019 G (25 Sha'ban 1440 H).

General Authority of Zakat and Tax urges all taxpayers to submit their returns by this deadline and settle all due amounts before the end of this period. This will enable General Authority of Zakat and Tax to provide them with the necessary facilities and certificates in a timely manner, allowing them to complete all their procedures, receive their dues, and avoid penalties and regular collection procedures.

General Authority of Zakat and Tax has recently launched the instant certificate service, which establishments can obtain through the ZATCA's e-portal, gazt.gov.sa. This service is part of a comprehensive suite of electronic services provided to all establishments to facilitate the filing of Zakat and tax returns and simplify the process of obtaining services, speeding up their execution. General Authority of Zakat and Tax has made available over 59 services on its e-portal.

General Authority of Zakat and Tax is responsible for collecting Zakat and tax. It serves as a link between Zakat payers and beneficiaries of social security. General Authority of Zakat and Tax transfers the Zakat amounts it collects from Zakat payers to a special account at Saudi Central Bank on an ongoing basis. These funds are then disbursed to the beneficiaries, as registered with the Social Insurance Agency at the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.
