In response to media reports regarding the date of approving and applying the excise tax, Tareq Al Sadhan, General Director of the General Authority of Zakat and Tax (GAZT) said that the excise tax will be implemented in the second quarter of this year.
The exact date will be announced once the statutory procedures are completed, he further noted.
