His Highness the Emir of Al-Jawf region receives Director General of the Department of Zakat and Income

Governor of Al Jawf Region Prince Fahd bin Badr bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received Mr. Ibrahim Al Mufleh, Director General of the General Authority of Zakat and Tax (GAZT).

During the meeting held at the prince's office, many issues related to GAZT were discussed as Al Mufleh briefed Prince Fahd on the services that will be provided by the GAZT branch, recently inaugurated in Al Jawf.

GAZT’s role in supporting the social security allocations as well as the state’s public revenues was touched upon in the meeting, attended by Mr. Howaidy bin Mohammed Al Anzi, director of the GAZT branch in Al Jawf.

Inaugurating Al Jawf branch on Tuesday 26/2/1437 AH, Al Mufleh said that opening new branches for the authority is meant to make procedures easier for taxpayers. After the inauguration, Al Mufleh toured the departments of the branch, inspected the course of work, met with the staff, listened to their opinions and urged them to streamline the procedures.

Meanwhile, Al Jawf Chamber of Commerce held a meeting for Al Mufleh with businessmen in the region.

After extending thanks to the Chamber for holding this meeting, Al Mufleh shed the light on GAZT‘s tasks and efforts to improve and upgrade the Zakat and tax systems, streamline procedures and improve performance of its employees.

GAZT seeks to benefit from the state-of-the-art technology to speed up and streamline its services, allowing taxpayers to easily pay the due Zakat and increasing the Zakat and tax revenues, Al Mufleh said.

He noted that the Zakat revenues are poured into a special account with the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) that is dedicated to pay for those who are entitled to receive Zakat and are registered with the social security department of the Ministry of Social Affairs.

The Zakat revenues constitute the largest proportion of pensions paid by the social security department, the official added.

As for the tax revenues, they are deposited in the general revenues account with the SAMA to be a part of the money used by the government to pay for the services provided to citizens and residents of the Kingdom, Al Mufleh said.

Al Mufleh answered many questions and inquiries about the work of GAZT from the attendees.
