Director General of the General Authority of Zakat and Tax (GAZT) Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al Mufleh inaugurated a branch of the authority in Arar.
The move aims to facilitate tax and Zakat payment procedures on taxpayers, Al Mufleh said.
Meanwhile, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Arar hosted on Monday 14/8/1436 AH a meeting between the Director General and Arar businessmen in which Al Mufleh thanked the Chamber for arranging the meeting.
In addition, Al Mufleh highlighted the roles and services of the Authority, and noted that GAZT seeks the development and modernization of the services it provides through contracting with the best companies in the field of technology to develop the automated systems of the authority and connecting to the relevant national entities, including connection with the "Qawaem" program that has been implemented in the beginning of the current fiscal year.
Al Mufleh also discussed the tax incentives provided in some regions, including the Northern Borders Region, to encourage foreign investors to set up projects so as to benefit from such incentives. He hoped that the Arar branch could play a role in stimulating investment in the region.
He stressed that the proceeds of Zakat are deposited in a separate account used to pay for the beneficiaries of the Social Security Department of the Ministry of Social Affairs.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Ibrahim Ali Asiri, Director of Jazan Branch, Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim Al Hassan, Director of the Audit Department, Mr. Mohamed Afat Al Enazi, Acting Director of the GAZT branch in Arar and Mr. Abdulrahman Nasser Al Asmari, Manager of the GAZT Director General office.
