 Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority Thwarts an Attempt to Smuggle 888K Captagon Pills

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority in Jeddah Islamic Port has successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle 888,000 Captagon pills, which were found hidden in a consignment of “pastes” used in construction.
The Authority has explained that a consignment received to the Kingdom through the border of Jeddah Islamic Port, consisting of "pastes" in one of the containers, was subject to customs procedures and examined through security techniques at the port, that quantity of pills was found inside hidden in the cavities of paste barrels.
The Authority has confirmed its determination to continue tightening the customs control over the Kingdom's imports and exports, and its standing by in the face of the smuggling lords attempts, to achieve one of the most important pillars of its strategy represented in the security and protection of the society. The Authority has also called on everyone to contribute to combat smuggling and protect the society and national economy by contacting the Authority's designated number for security reports (1910), via e-mail (1910@zatca.gov.sa), or by the international number (00966114208417). The Authority will receive reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the Common Customs Law confidentially, with a financial reward given to the whistleblower if the provided information were proven correct.​
