Zakat, Tax and Customs Launches an Interactive Glossary for Terms and Notions Related to Their Specialization

06 October 2021

Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority has launched a glossary concerned with zakat, tax, and customs terms and notions. It is considered the first interactive glossary published in a single document locally and regionally.
The launch of the glossary comes within the framework of the Authority's continuous efforts to provide taxpayers, governmental entities, individuals, and related bodies with a definite and comprehensive reference, with accurate terms and expressions approved by the Authority to unify terms as well as facilitate their comprehension for taxpayers, those interested, concerned individuals, companies, and related bodies.
The Authority has clarified that the glossary was created according to terms and expressions mentioned in the laws and regulations of the Authority to be a primary source for procedural phrases and notions eventually.
The purpose of the glossary is to be a primary reference for terms concerning zakat, tax, and customs since it comes as part of the Authority's responsibility to build an integrated culture in the fields of zakat, tax, and customs.
The glossary contains links to improve the browsing experience; by clicking on the selected icon, it directs to the term and its meaning. It is organized in Arabic alphabetical order while including all the terms concerning zakat, tax, and customs in Arabic and English.
The Authority invited those interested, specialists, taxpayers from the business sector, students, and academics to view the interactive glossary created for awareness and educational purposes.
In this matter, the Authority has emphasized that the glossary shall not substitute legal consultation and shall not be used as a legal reference, stressing that the legal provisions shall be referenced.
