Riyadh, 3rd of December 2019:
The General Authority of Zakat and Tax (GAZT) said that all the enterprises registered in VAT can submit their tax return in minutes with ease, by entering the enterprise's account in the GAZT's e-portal GAZT.GOV.SA, and filling out the sales and purchase fields, then paying the due invoice electronically at any time from anywhere through the SADAD System, which does not require any attachments or documents.
The GAZT stated that if a credit balance is generated after the VAT return is filled; the enterprise can apply for a refund for this balance by submitting a refund request through the same tax return, at a push of a button on the "Refund" box. The refund request does not require any documents or attachments, while the GAZT specified that the refund requests will be terminated within a maximum of 30 days.
The GAZT seeks to facilitate its services provided to the taxpayers and the enterprises' owners registered at the GAZT for zakat or tax purposes.
At the same time, the GAZT recently published statistics on its performance rate for this year; and this statistic included "the average time taken from applying for a refund up until receiving the amount ".
On the other hand, the GAZT reiterated that the enterprises are entitled to correct their tax returns, which they have already submitted for a previous tax period; in accordance with the provisions of the Executive Regulation of the VAT System; provided that they will notify the GAZT within a maximum period of 20 days of their knowledge of the error; indicating that in case of an error in the registration of the annual financial statements, the enterprises are entitled to change the submission period of their tax returns from monthly to quarterly returns and vice versa, and that is through the enterprise's account on the GAZT's e-portal.
